The establishment of a Contemporary Southeastern Europe community has its purpose in creating a new and additional level of academic debate in Southeast European Studies. The journal has therefore decided to offer an option to authors and reader alike to engage in an interactive form of intellectual exchange. Through the framework of a moderated comment section for each published contribution, Contemporary Southeastern Europe aims to present an addition to traditional forms of academic critique and debate, which are generally restricted to peer-reviewed responses in academic journals. The forum will hence enable CSE community members to engage in a more contemporary form of debate characterized by a quicker, more direct and more concise reaction located in a widely spread and easily accessible medium.
We would therefore very much like to invite all authors and readers to create an account on the Contemporary Southeastern Europe (CSE) webpage in order to become a CSE community member. As a CSE community member you will be able to post comments on each published articles and thereby participate in the broadening and deepening of academic debates on contemporary Southeast European issues. Each of the comments will be fully accessible to non CSE community members and hence quotable in other forms of academic knowledge production. Community members will also receive a newsletter containing information about newly published articles (optional).
