Ana Budimir is a PhD candidate and a research and teaching assistant at the Department of Public Policy and Political Economy, Faculty of Political Science, University of Zagreb. Her research focuses on migration and innovation, with her doctoral dissertation examining how and why highly skilled individuals, scientists in particular, remain connected to their countries of origin and the role of public policies in facilitating their return. She holds an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Oxford and a BA and MA in Political Science and Economics from the University of Zagreb. In addition to her doctoral research, she has worked as a consultant for the World Bank on projects related to migration, innovation, and regional development. She also manages the non-profit initiative Leading Utilities of the World, which connects the world’s leading water utilities to share knowledge and foster innovation.
