Klaus Buchenau is a Professor for Southeast and East European History at the University of Regensburg. He received his doctorate in Southeast European History with a thesis on Orthodoxy and Catholicism in Yugoslavia, 1945-1991: A Serbian-Croatian comparison from the Free University of Berlin. Among his publications are Auf russischen Spuren, Orthodoxe Antiwestler in Serbien 1850-1945 (Wiesbaden: Harrassowitz, 2011) and Kämpfende Kirchen. Jugoslawiens religiöse Hypothek (Frankfurt a. M.: Peter Lang, 2006).
