The 2024/2025 Croatian Presidential Election
In some respects, the election campaign for the Croatian presidential election in late 2024 was more of a long-drawn-out ‘coronation ceremony’. The incumbent, Zoran Milanović, was far too popular, and his opponents' political agendas were not ambitious enough for a surprising result. Milanović’s success in the second round also marked the end of a super election year, which once again highlighted the dominance of two men in Croatian politics.
